Dade Lemanski is a writer, historian, and translator whose work addresses Appalachian poetics, queer nightlife, and Yiddish poetry, with a focus on erotics, dis/embodiment, whiteness, Jewishness, and grief. A former film reviewer for the Village Voice and managing editor of In geveb: A Journal of Yiddish Studies, Dade's essays, fiction, translations, and criticism have appeared in Public Books, World Literature Today, and DIAGRAM. Their first book, Full Life, Full Agonies, is forthcoming from the University Press of Kentucky. At ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ they teach fiction and nonfiction, and they have led creative writing classes and workshops in high schools, public libraries, jails and prisons, halfway houses, and art galleries. They hold a BA in Creative Writing and Yiddish Studies from Columbia University, an MA in History from the University of Pittsburgh, and have received support from the Trans Chair at the University of Victoria and the Yiddish Book Center's Translation Fellowship.
