How to Administer Digital Badges

The Business Innovation Office (BIO) manages micro-credential digital badges for ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ faculty and staff through Credly, ensuring alignment with university standards and quality requirements. The BIO is the administrator of the Credly platform and the Badge Manager for Computing Services.

Administration Process & Requirements

  1. Computing Services (CS) Members
    • The BIO will directly assist with setup and ongoing badge administration.
  2. Non-Computing Services Members
    • Appoint a Badge Manager: Your department must designate a primary Badge Manager.
    • Existing Badge Managers: If your department already has a manager, work with Taylor to adjust badge allocations or request additional ones.

Next Steps to Become a Badge Manager

  1. Submit Preliminary Information: Complete our to share preliminary details about your request.
  2. Consultation: A BIO representative will reach out to schedule a 30-minute meeting with you to review your micro-credentialing structure and technical needs.
  3. Guidelines Agreement: Commit to adhering to university marketing and administration guidelines.

Note: Any proposed improvements to badge types or criteria must be reviewed and approved by the badging committee and chair.
